Happy morning

Good morning, Friends! I'm feeling pretty good this morning, so I wanted to say hi right away! I slept all the way through the night again, so that's nice. Mommy says that's one good thing about this icky tube. I can sleep right through getting my food. My Pop is so jealous of that. He doesn't like to eat either. I guess I get it from him. Mommy always tells me I get my blue eyes from Pop too, and it always makes her smile. I know yesterday I didn't make Mommy smile some, but I just don't like that bottle. Some days it's ok, but I didn't want it yesterday. I've heard from the pandas that girls change their minds alot, so I guess I must just be a girl. Mommy was trying to tell me why I should take the bottle, but I just smiled at her with the noise, oh yeah, I mean laughed at her and she just smiled and hugged me big. I've figured out that she can stop being upset with me if I give her smiles and laughs. It's fun, too! I go to see Dr. Y today,...

Mommy report: Feeding frustration

Just a quick post tonight... and Braska's already in bed, so she'll have to put her 2 cents in tomorrow morning. She has decided that she does not want the bottle at all anymore. This is the kind of thing that frustrates me more than I expected. When I know she can do something and she seems to simply REFUSE to do it... that is hard for me to take. So she's getting NG for most everything now. I hope this changes soon. It's hard to see her take whole meals by bottle one day and just not take it the next. Thoughts from any of you experienced feeding issues, especially DS related??

Pretty good review

Mr. Billy at Critique My Blog said some nice things about my stories and stuff... How cute is a blog that is written from the perspective of a little baby? Very unique concept and boy can this baby write! Sorry to see this little one is going through some issues and is in the hospital in recent postings and my prayers are with you all...This is a great blog that will be a "keepsake" for years to come for you and your family....nice job and keep up the good work. I'm glad you liked it!

One day happier

This morning was back to our regular stuff. Mommy did work and I played. I felt better, and Mommy was funny when we were playing. I smiled at her, and she got all excited. I'm not sure what was so exciting. I have smiled at her before I think, but this time I let out some little noises when I smiled. Then she kept trying to make me do it again. I guess that making noise when you smile at something funny is called "laughing," and Mommy likes me to do that. If it weren't for this silly tube in my nose with all the tape and stuff, I'd be able to smile more, I think. When Mommy puts the tube in next time, she'll make it prettier than they did at the hospital. She just keeps telling me that if I would drink from the bottle then I could get the tube out again. I guess I'll get around to that when I feel a little better.

Finally home

It's so nice to be back at home. I like my bed so much better than the one at the hospital. And it's nice to sleep in some quiet instead of all those weird noises that go on at the hospital. Plus, here I have my own room!! Tonight we went to eat with Mr. Tim, Miss Mindy, and Mia at Olive Garden. It's one of Mommy and Pop's favorite places. And Mia likes it especially because she eats lots of black olives every time. She even drank the olive juice tonight. Ewwww. I don't think I'll like olive juice ever. I wasn't feeling very good, so Pop cuddled me most of the night. I must have gone to sleep because I woke up and I was back in my seat. Pop was paying the bill and we left. Now I'm ready for bed. I haven't taken much to drinking from the bottle today, but maybe I'll feel more like it tomorrow.

Mommy life: Tagged: 7 songs, part 2

If you missed part 1, you can start here if you’d like. Warning: More “real” topics than the usual Braska reports. Notice: Abnormally long post. The complicating part of this particular assignment is that to do this honestly, it means that I must deal with some things that I’ve generally kept to myself or those who have crossed my path with unfortunate timing. Yet, I don’t want to betray others’ thoughts and feelings irreverently, so I’ll tread carefully. For those of you involved, grant me this bit of healing. It’s been a very hard year. That’s the understatement of my life…but it is still true. And since I try to live my life reliant on the grace and comfort of God and reflecting the love of Christ, a hard year has been a growing year and one full of reminders of where I stand in the whole scheme of things. I am a musician, a lover of music, and it is integral to my daily life. So as I am hurting and learning, music is deeply entwined in the process. An obvious theme or two will be p...

Freedom

The doctors decided to let me go home today. Yippee! It took alot of help from my nurse Miss Jenny to get all the stuff together that I need when I get home. She really worked hard for us! Thanks Miss Jenny! As we were leaving, we took a few pictures, because this was a pretty cool place. Every floor had neat circles with words on it. I thought they were neat. This was my floor. This was the neato place where people can eat. I didn't get to go there since they had a sign on my door called Isolation. That meant I didn't get to run around the hospital like some kids did. This is the front door. There's little plastic people down there on the sidewalk that are cute, I think. And these neato colored things are in the building where we parked our car. They are supposed to keep us from driving out a window, I think. Mommy and Pop are real proud of me they said, because I took my bottle today for my whole meal two times this afternoon. I'm just tired of this tube in my nos...
