31 for 21: Trip with Coach Katie

Braska reporting: Last week on Friday, Mommy and I took a trip with Coach Katie.  She went with us to talk to a bunch of 6th graders in another town a little far way from here about Down syndrome.  Mommy talked to 6 classes of them… she said the same thing every time and they watched a video.  Coach Katie talked, too. She told a little about my cheer squad that I was on last year.  After we talked, we went and had some lunch with the teachers. One of them is Mommy’s friend from a long time ago.  Me and Katie took some silly pictures, too.  Well, mostly I was silly… It was fun day.  This is our second year to go down there and talk to the kids. And we’ll probably go next year, too.

142/366 The road to home

We had a great trip in Wisconsin, but it’s time to come home.  We got up and got dressed.  I picked blue today, KiKi wanted purple. We packed up the van and headed back.  When we stopped for a while. KiKi got up in the seat where Mommy sits to drive.  KiKi got an apple, buckled herself in, and got comfy. We stopped a lot, and Mommy got grouchy about stopping… she likes to drive without stopping… but we made it back in time to stretch for cheer.  Yay!

138/366 Last sleep at home

(I’ve put up a lot of stories, since I was behind, so make sure you go back a few days and see them. And leave me a note about what you like, too! I put them all on the days that we took the pictures.) Tomorrow we go to Wisconsin. We will be in the car a long time. We’re gonna play a lot with friends and we’re gonna do lots of stuff.  So we have to get some good sleep before we leave. KiKi sometimes gets lonely at night, so she’s been sneaking into bed with me after I go to sleep.  I didn’t leave her much room tonight…

137/366 Trip car? Room for friends!

Mommy saw this tonight at a place where she was.  We’re going on a trip in a couple days, so I wonder if we get to take it with us and bring some friends along! (Mommy note: Pictures of the girls for a few days were lost, flushed down the toilet. Well, not flushed, but apparently washed away in the 1.2 seconds that my phone spent in the toilet.  Grrrrrrrrr….  Thank goodness it was “clean” water…)

Windy Weekend: Part 4

Sunday morning we got up and got all dressed for church.  Before we left Connor and Lucas’s house, we took some pictures. KiKi doesn’t usually like Sunday pictures by the door, but this time she went right to the door all by herself when she saw Mommy get the camera out. But then she wouldn’t get out of my way when it was MY turn.  And she wouldn’t turn and look at Mommy to do a sisters picture either.  She’s just that way sometimes. We had to go soon, so we just did the pictures even though she was in the way.  I told her with my eyes that she was being dif-uh-kult. (Mommy note: About these outfits… Kinlee’s is a size 6-9 months. Braska wore it last year and can still wear it, though the top is almost too short.  Braska’s outfit is 12 months, and she wore it 2 years ago on Father’s day…click here for a peek back.  Some of her cutest pics ever, still faves of mine. Especially this one …) Then we went to Aunt Karol a...

Windy Weekend, Part 2

On Friday, we got up and went to Aunt Karol’s house.  Me and KiKi played while Mommy and Aunt Karol worked on the computers for some neat things that we’ll tell you about later. The big kids got home from school early, so we got to do some fun things with them.  We went on a walk to see Laynee’s hee-hee’s.  Well, we went to see them on Thursday, too, and they came right up and bumped into me and everything!!  I was really afraid of them.  And KiKi was too.  But Mommy wanted us to go back again and try to say hello to the horses again. So this time Jade took us over in a fun wagon!  Moise has his own wheels, so he didn’t ride with us. Isn’t he handsome?!  Me and KiKi don’t like grass, remember?  It’s itchy and it makes me very upset to touch it or walk on it.  But look at KiKi! She got out of the wagon for a little bit! I did a little trick, though. I put my hands up and said, “Weeeee!” I was very...

Catch-up: Trip to C-U, Part 1

Last weekend, we went back to where we used to live. It was nice to see alot of people, but I didn't remember some of them. Mommy says they all knew me when I was a tiny baby, but I'm a big girl now! Friday night we went to a little party for our friends who are moving away. This is Miss Zoey, she used to go on trips with me and Mommy to talk to me in the car and help Mommy with things. Mommy really wishes she lived close now that there are two of us, me and KiKi. We hope maybe she will come to St. Louis for college!! The party was for Miss Karen and her family, so I sat with her for a while too. Saturday morning KiKi and me played on the bed for a while at the hotel before we got our baths. We were tricking Daddy for a while because he thought we were asleep. But then we couldn't keep from giggling about it! At lunch on Saturday, we met Sophie and her brother and parents at our old favorite restaurant. El Toro!!!! We just love Toro!!! I had some beans and some salsa and so...

Retropost: Trip back home

Last weekend we went back home to Champaign to see some friends. And we saw a bunch of them! We had alot of quick visits to say hello, but we didn't get to see everyone. We stayed with Mr. Tom and Miss Beth on Saturday night. Dottie and Jake live there too, and we played with them some. They had lots of fun toys for me, and they even gave me some fun ones to take home!! Thanks Miss Beth! On Saturday I went to see lots of people with Mommy while Daddy stayed at Mr. Tom's house. We saw Miss Jen, Mr. Adam, and Kabe . Then we met Miss Janet at the mall for a little bit while we got Daddy's ring fixed to fit him better. Then we had lunch with Mr. Brent and Miss Laura before we went to Maddy and Grace's house. Mr. Randy and Miss Karen were there too. I took a little nap and Mommy just rested while her belly was icky. It was nice to see Maddy and Grace again. Then we went back to Mr. Tom's house for dinner and playtime with Dottie and Jake before bed. On Sunday, we...

Retropost: First trip with Zoey

Last week, Mommy and I packed up to go back to St. Louis so I could get my glasses fixed and pick up my new glasses that Mommy calls the backup pair. Since I have been getting tired of riding in the car sometimes these last few trips, Mommy decided it would be nice if she could find a friend to go with us who could play with me and put my glasses back on when I throw them in the car while Mommy is driving. So we found our friend Zoey and she said she would go with us. She's 13 and is really nice! I like her alot, and we had such a good time in the car. I like having someone right there to talk to and play with. Zoey took good care of me when Mommy needed to work and when Mommy had to go talk to people at the doctor's office. It was really fun to have a friend along with us. We left on Wednesday morning, stopping at one of Mommy's offices on the way so she could work for a while, then we went to Children's so I could have a test. They stuck me with a needle to get some ...
