My birthday!

This morning when Mommy came to get me out of bed, she said it was my birthday. That means that one year ago I came out of Mommy's tummy. She said today was going to be my day every year. When I get bigger, I'll get to do some big kid fun things, but since this is my first one, I'm just gonna hang out with Mommy and Pop as we go to Grammy and Papa's house. That sounds like a good day to me!

Pop's cousin Larae (yeah, that's right..she's got my name!) from Alaska sent me a really neat blanket for my birthday! Isn't it pretty?! I love the bright colors and I just look at them and roll around on it. It's so fun! Thanks Cousin Larae!

Since we're leaving to go to see family today and we'll be gone for a bunch of days, I will try to tell you about all my fun times in a few days. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  8. Happy Birthday to your beautiful girl!!! Sorry I'm late in leaving my wishes.

I love her new photos!!! What a doll!

I can relate and understand sooo many of the things you have written. I too struggle with the mess at feeding - yuck! I want it all neat and clean, but the OT says let her mess with it. *sigh* Braska is doing much better with the solid foods. We are still in the first jars - and not much of that yet either.

I can also relate to the feelings on adoption and special needs children. I look at sites far too often and my heart is just breaking.

I love your photos and video clips. The one of her peeking out of her crib is so cute!

Thank you for all that you share. Thank you too for your encouragment on my blog.

    Hugs,
    Leslie

Mommy report: Chatty girl

Braska's been just loving her words lately. She's still signing some, mostly when we're in public or around strangers, but she's adding more words all the time. Many of her words are just attempts at the actual word, but that's where we all start, right?!? We're not saying that she'll be giving speeches next month, but we are very proud that she's become such a mimic and that she is loving using so many sounds. We practice often, just running through her words, signs, and tricks. She especially loves to chime in with videos of herself, so I've been working on compiling all her favorites for her to work with. As I was editing this, she was sitting here saying the words over and over. So funny to hear her talking to herself on the screen and loving it. So here's a peek at some clips from our practice session tonight. Some words are more obvious than others. They are all great attempts, though, and we'll celebrate that! Make an on-line

Nebraska meets Indiana

Braska's reaction to meeting the very kind Rory Feek and his beautiful daughter Indy.  I missed the part where Braska said Indy was sooooooooooo cute!  :) Our dream would be a photo showing the two most beautiful "states" together, right?!?  :)
