10 long and short months

Today I'm 10 months old. I don't really count numbers or anything, but that's what Mommy told me. She said it's been like forever and like no time at all. I don't understand that at all, but sometimes big people say dumb things.

Mommy got out my play gym from when I was a little baby. We had put it away, but since I'm not feeling as much like being on my tummy, she thought it might be good for me to have something to play with that I could reach. When I played with this one before, I could not reach the toys on top. I just looked at them mostly, and sometimes I would hit the ones that were close to my hands. But look what I did today...

That's right...I reached up with two hands and pulled on that bug. Over and over and over. I even almost pulled him right off the gym! I tried hard to get him off of there, but I couldn't quite do it. I sure did tug on him hard though. Maybe I'll get him down later. I'll keep trying.

  1. Grown ups do say dumb things sometimes, but the good thing about that is that you get to grow up and say dumb things too.

  2. I totally know what you mean by forever and no time at all. I always think in terms of my old life and this life. I'm not sure why, but that is just how it seems, I guess I was blissfully unaware of a lot of things before Ella was born, however life is much better with her in it. Ya know what I mean? Yet another dumb thing said!! : ) Good job putting on a couple of ozs, keep it up!!!!

  3. I agree with your mother. So short a time... but I can't remember very well what our family was like without BRASKA!

I remember your mommy's birth like it was yesterday, but it was a little longer ago than that. You have a very special mommy!
    Love you!!

Mommy report: Chatty girl

Braska's been just loving her words lately. She's still signing some, mostly when we're in public or around strangers, but she's adding more words all the time. Many of her words are just attempts at the actual word, but that's where we all start, right?!? We're not saying that she'll be giving speeches next month, but we are very proud that she's become such a mimic and that she is loving using so many sounds. We practice often, just running through her words, signs, and tricks. She especially loves to chime in with videos of herself, so I've been working on compiling all her favorites for her to work with. As I was editing this, she was sitting here saying the words over and over. So funny to hear her talking to herself on the screen and loving it. So here's a peek at some clips from our practice session tonight. Some words are more obvious than others. They are all great attempts, though, and we'll celebrate that! Make an on-line

Nebraska meets Indiana

Braska's reaction to meeting the very kind Rory Feek and his beautiful daughter Indy.  I missed the part where Braska said Indy was sooooooooooo cute!  :) Our dream would be a photo showing the two most beautiful "states" together, right?!?  :)
