Big kid seats

First, I forgot to tell you that on the 14th it was one year since I came home for the first time from the hospital. So Mommy put up pictures of us then and us this year's 14th too. It's over here if you wanna see it. And she also told the story about our BIG day in that one too. I'm gonna tell my side now.

Yesterday was a BIG day for me! I did some fun new things that surprised Mommy and might surprise you too!

We got up early and took Belle to see Miss Wilma for a haircut. While she was there we went to the store, and I kept trying to tell Mommy I wanted to sit up more than in my seat. So she decided to try to put me in the big kid seat in the cart. And I liked it alot! She was very proud that I was sitting good in there, and I liked that I could see everything all around!

We picked up Belle and went home for a while. Mommy helped me change clothes so we could go out to lunch with Miss Janet. I got to wear a new outfit that Grammy Jan gave me before I was even born! It finally fits, and it's really soft. And it's our favorite color too, pretty purple. Mommy tried to take some pictures but I wasn't smiling enough, so she had a talk with me about smiling.

Then I tried to do what she said. I sat up straight and smiled.

We went to eat with Miss Janet at the Olive place we like alot. And guess what I did there? I sat in the big kid seat again. It's called a high chair, and I liked it pretty good. It's not too soft though, like the one I have at home. I liked sitting at the table and banging on it.

I took a nice nap on Miss Janet while we were there. It was some good sleeps!

Then Mommy and I went to the mall to do some shopping for presents. We saw this nice guy and Mommy said it was time to get a picture. His name is Santa Claus, and he was very friendly to me.

What a day! I'm not gonna be a baby for long, that's what Mommy says!

Mommy report: Chatty girl

Braska's been just loving her words lately. She's still signing some, mostly when we're in public or around strangers, but she's adding more words all the time. Many of her words are just attempts at the actual word, but that's where we all start, right?!? We're not saying that she'll be giving speeches next month, but we are very proud that she's become such a mimic and that she is loving using so many sounds. We practice often, just running through her words, signs, and tricks. She especially loves to chime in with videos of herself, so I've been working on compiling all her favorites for her to work with. As I was editing this, she was sitting here saying the words over and over. So funny to hear her talking to herself on the screen and loving it. So here's a peek at some clips from our practice session tonight. Some words are more obvious than others. They are all great attempts, though, and we'll celebrate that! Make an on-line

Nebraska meets Indiana

Braska's reaction to meeting the very kind Rory Feek and his beautiful daughter Indy.  I missed the part where Braska said Indy was sooooooooooo cute!  :) Our dream would be a photo showing the two most beautiful "states" together, right?!?  :)
