Mommy report: Wired and ready to sleep

I’m home, after dropping Braska and M off at Children’s.  We got her all set up and wired up, and she did SO well.  I didn’t think she’d tolerate all the sticky things and leads, but she didn’t flinch.  Well, until they wanted to use one that would hook around her lip.  Nope, that was not going to happen.  Thankfully, her super nice tech Donna had another cannula without that hook, so all was ok.

Here’s a pictorial version of the process.

The little TV with Sprout on it was the saving grace.  She stayed focused on that and didn’t mind the rest of the action happening to her.

She was happy that Daddy was in p-jammies to and was ready to snuggle.

The final look, cannula and all.

A hug from Mommy before I left for the night.  She was plenty tired.

Last minute adjustments.  She had leads on her legs, chest, face, and head.

Ready to sleep, Daddy close to make sure she went down ok.

Quite a bunch of wires for such a small girl.

And finally, here’s a little clip with one sleepy girl’s “good night.”

  3. She's just a cutie- even with the gazillion wires and goop in the hair :) Hope it was a successful study and you find some answers. We had to go to Chicago for Dom's since no one in C-U monitors CO2 output...snuggle your lil misses from us!

Mommy report: Chatty girl

Braska's been just loving her words lately. She's still signing some, mostly when we're in public or around strangers, but she's adding more words all the time. Many of her words are just attempts at the actual word, but that's where we all start, right?!? We're not saying that she'll be giving speeches next month, but we are very proud that she's become such a mimic and that she is loving using so many sounds. We practice often, just running through her words, signs, and tricks. She especially loves to chime in with videos of herself, so I've been working on compiling all her favorites for her to work with. As I was editing this, she was sitting here saying the words over and over. So funny to hear her talking to herself on the screen and loving it. So here's a peek at some clips from our practice session tonight. Some words are more obvious than others. They are all great attempts, though, and we'll celebrate that! Make an on-line

Nebraska meets Indiana

Braska's reaction to meeting the very kind Rory Feek and his beautiful daughter Indy.  I missed the part where Braska said Indy was sooooooooooo cute!  :) Our dream would be a photo showing the two most beautiful "states" together, right?!?  :)
