Sunday at home!

It was so nice today to go to our church and see our friends again. Mommy and I have been gone so many weeks that I thought people might forget us! I was so glad to be back that I behaved real good and let both Mommy and Pop stay in the big room for the whole time.

After lunch, Mommy and I went back to the church for a party for Miss Bev and Mr. Jim. They have been married for 50 years. That seems like a very long time to me. Mommy says they are the ones who first got Mommy and Pop to meeting friends at church a few years back, so they're real special to us. I don't have a picture of Mr. Jim, but here's one from a few years ago of Miss Bev.

It was a nice party, and we got to talk to lots of friends and eat cake... well, I didn't get cake, but Mommy said it was good.

When we got home from the party, we packed up and walked over to Mr. Bip's house where Pop was playing his card game.

It's kind of a long walk, and it was pretty warm, but we had fun. Belle went with us, but she got kind of tired along the way too, so I let her ride in my Wheels with me. (See her down on the bottom??)

This is how we wait to cross the street at a big meeting of the roads. Mommy says this is important.

When we got to Mr. Bip's house, I didn't feel very good. My belly was hurting really bad, so I tried to tell Mommy for a long time. She kept trying to tell me it was ok, but I still didn't feel good! Finally, we took Pop's car and went home quickly.

She put me in the bath, which I liked quite a lot. Mommy tried a new thing with my head, something about my flaky skin or something, but it left my hair all weird like Uncle Ethon's. I'm a little embarrassed about the pictures...

  1. I love your hair. I really am not sure what it would take for you to be uncute for me. As it is you are very adorable, beautiful, cute, and sweet.

  2. Good morning, Braska! I ended yesterday looking at your blog and started today doing the same! I woke your Auntie Joy, Auntie Julia, and Uncle Ryan as I laughed so loud at your bath pictures. You DO look a bit like Uncle Ethon! We're trying to get those guys up and dressed so we can get breakfast and head home. See you Wednesday! Be a good girl and eat lots!

    Love ya, papa beagle

  3. Hey Braska girl, I forgot to tell you that today is great grandma Jeannine's birthday and I thought you might like to drop her a line. Her first question to me is always about you and I think she would love to see one of your hair raising pictures.

  4. Grandma C--It's always good to hear nice things. I'll be sure to send a note and pictures to Great-grandma Jeannine.

Papa Beagle--I'm glad you liked the pictures...I laughed at them again this morning too when Mommy and I were looking at them again.

Mommy report: Chatty girl

Braska's been just loving her words lately. She's still signing some, mostly when we're in public or around strangers, but she's adding more words all the time. Many of her words are just attempts at the actual word, but that's where we all start, right?!? We're not saying that she'll be giving speeches next month, but we are very proud that she's become such a mimic and that she is loving using so many sounds. We practice often, just running through her words, signs, and tricks. She especially loves to chime in with videos of herself, so I've been working on compiling all her favorites for her to work with. As I was editing this, she was sitting here saying the words over and over. So funny to hear her talking to herself on the screen and loving it. So here's a peek at some clips from our practice session tonight. Some words are more obvious than others. They are all great attempts, though, and we'll celebrate that! Make an on-line

Nebraska meets Indiana

Braska's reaction to meeting the very kind Rory Feek and his beautiful daughter Indy.  I missed the part where Braska said Indy was sooooooooooo cute!  :) Our dream would be a photo showing the two most beautiful "states" together, right?!?  :)
