So this is spring...

Today it was not cold. I guess that isn't really news to some of you, but to me, it's a first. Mommy always keeps me covered and bundled, but today I got to wear a bit less clothes, and it was fun to kick around with bare legs some of the day.

I sat in my chair while Mommy worked today. She tells me that this is going to happen some every day, so I guess I'll just have to find something to keep me busy. My chair has lots of cool gadgets and toys, so as long as I get to sit in that, I'm good to go. It's even comfortable to nap in, which comes in very handy.

Miss Yolanda came by today from next door to see how I was. They are such a nice family. Mommy says they girls will come splash with me this summer in our pool. I don't know what that means really, but I like people coming to see me and I like water, so I'm sure it will be fun.

I still haven't decided to take up this bottle thing. I don't see what the big deal is about it. But Mommy seems to want me to not have this tube in my nose anymore, so she tried something new today. She gave me some mushy stuff on a funny-shaped metal stick that she called a "spoon." It wasn't too bad actually. I just messed with it in my mouth a little and swallowed some, but mostly I just pushed it back out at her.

That last one was me saying I was done with this little experiment... I wasn't crying, just making a point. Mommy's quick. She got the idea.

  1. Listen Little Miss, you have to eat. I know its a bore. I know you take after your Pop and if you can nourish your body without actually tasting food you would be happy, but sometimes you just have to do what you don't want.

  2. I like the progression in the pictures: first relaxed and content, then alarmed, then mad! You let mommy know who's boss!

Mommy report: Chatty girl

Braska's been just loving her words lately. She's still signing some, mostly when we're in public or around strangers, but she's adding more words all the time. Many of her words are just attempts at the actual word, but that's where we all start, right?!? We're not saying that she'll be giving speeches next month, but we are very proud that she's become such a mimic and that she is loving using so many sounds. We practice often, just running through her words, signs, and tricks. She especially loves to chime in with videos of herself, so I've been working on compiling all her favorites for her to work with. As I was editing this, she was sitting here saying the words over and over. So funny to hear her talking to herself on the screen and loving it. So here's a peek at some clips from our practice session tonight. Some words are more obvious than others. They are all great attempts, though, and we'll celebrate that! Make an on-line

Nebraska meets Indiana

Braska's reaction to meeting the very kind Rory Feek and his beautiful daughter Indy.  I missed the part where Braska said Indy was sooooooooooo cute!  :) Our dream would be a photo showing the two most beautiful "states" together, right?!?  :)
