The morning after

(This is from yesterday, just before Mommy gave me to the lady I don't know.)

I've been sleeping well for a while now. I think I'm still asleep now...maybe just dreaming that I'm blogging. Things are fuzzy. My Mommy and Pop are coming back today, they told me. They needed some good sleep because they haven't had that in a while. Since I'm being taken care of, and they can't hold me or touch me right now, it's a good time for them to sleep.

I think they did pretty well with all the events of yesterday. I thought Mommy would cry when she came to see me after surgery, but she didn't. She was strong and kept saying I looked good. I can't imagine that I'm very pretty right now, but Mommy still thinks I'm beautiful. That makes me feel special. They told me I'll feel a whole lot better very soon and we'll get to go home. I don't really know what that will be like, to feel "better." But they seem to think it will be alot of fun, so I'm all for it.

My grandparents and aunties and uncles and alot of friends came to the hospital to be there for me during the surgery yesterday, and that's cool. I'm glad that they were there to take care of Mommy and Pop and keep them company. My family that couldn't be there from all over the place was still praying. I've got lots of great family! And Mommy and Pop have so many super cool friends!

Back to sleep for me...they tell me I need rest to heal, and I'm fine to nap for a while. I'll be glad when I can take my naps with my Pop again, though.

  2. Nebraska,
I'm so glad that you are getting the sleep and naps you need, because very soon you and I are going to have a play date , I'll have my new leg and your fixed heart will be healed, so don't forget little miss, you and I have a date -- think about what you want to do. May God bless you and watch over you.
    Love

  3. We are so glad to hear that you are doing so well! Bethany wants to shower her with hugs and kisses -- and we are dancing in the street with joy for Braska's progress.

Mommy report: Chatty girl

Braska's been just loving her words lately. She's still signing some, mostly when we're in public or around strangers, but she's adding more words all the time. Many of her words are just attempts at the actual word, but that's where we all start, right?!? We're not saying that she'll be giving speeches next month, but we are very proud that she's become such a mimic and that she is loving using so many sounds. We practice often, just running through her words, signs, and tricks. She especially loves to chime in with videos of herself, so I've been working on compiling all her favorites for her to work with. As I was editing this, she was sitting here saying the words over and over. So funny to hear her talking to herself on the screen and loving it. So here's a peek at some clips from our practice session tonight. Some words are more obvious than others. They are all great attempts, though, and we'll celebrate that! Make an on-line

Nebraska meets Indiana

Braska's reaction to meeting the very kind Rory Feek and his beautiful daughter Indy.  I missed the part where Braska said Indy was sooooooooooo cute!  :) Our dream would be a photo showing the two most beautiful "states" together, right?!?  :)
